Aiper unveiled a new smart watering solution at CES 2025 that may be as easy to install as a traditional lawn sprinkler. The IrriSense smart irrigation sprinkler does not require any pipes to be buried in the yard, and as an all-in-one device, it does not require additional hardware to be installed on the faucet. Its precise irrigation method can also reduce water waste and avoid overspraying.
The IrriSense smart irrigation sprinkler will be available starting in May 2025 for $399. It comes with a 10-meter waterproof power cord that plugs into a power outlet, but a standard garden hose long enough to reach a faucet is required. According to Aiper, installation and setup takes about 15 minutes, which involves securing the IrriSense sprinkler with four ground spikes that can be pulled up when the sprinkler needs to be moved or temporarily removed to mow the lawn.
The sprinkler’s water jet can reach up to 12 meters away and can cover an area of up to 400 square meters as it swings back and forth. Through the Aiper mobile app, the spraying pattern can be customized by custom creating a map, a process that requires manually marking locations around the yard. The goal is to not only reduce water usage, but also help keep certain areas dry, such as sidewalks in the yard.
The IrriSense sprinkler’s routine watering schedule can be set via a mobile app, but to further conserve water and prevent overwatering, it can also adjust based on weather conditions. The sprinkler itself is equipped with a sensor, and there are also separate soil moisture sensors that track how wet the soil is. If the lawn is still appropriately wet after a recent rain, the scheduled watering will be skipped.
Multiple IrriSense sprinkler heads can be installed and automated to increase coverage, and they can also be used to spray liquid fertilizers or pesticides.
