Lectron produces 12,000 NACS to CCS electric vehicle charging adapters per week

Since Tesla opened its Supercharger network, demand from other EV drivers has been high. So high is demand that Lectron, a supplier of portable chargers, adapters, and charging stations, has increased production of its NACS to CCS adapters to 12,000 units per week.

“Our expanded production ensures that every EV driver with a compatible vehicle has access to the largest fast-charging network in the U.S.,” said Christopher Maiwald, CEO of Lectron.

Lectron’s Vortex Plug is an adapter that allows non-Tesla EVs equipped with a CCS1 charging port to charge at Tesla Superchargers. It is rated at 1,000 volts and 500 amps.

With Ford, GM, Rivian, Polestar, and Volvo having access to Tesla Superchargers in 2024, and other automakers in the pipeline, demand for Tesla adapters is expected to grow. Lectron is strategically strengthening relationships with automakers, retailers, and dealers.

“The NACS to CCS Adapter is an essential component for automakers’ transition to the NACS standard, enabling them to provide their customers with seamless access to Tesla’s Supercharger network,” Lectron said.
